As a Senior Environment Look Development Artist on The Wild Robot, I expanded upon the painterly utilities and workflows I helped develop for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish to craft the show's unique stylized look. One of the largest tasks was being responsible for the development of shaders and textures for painterly snow and ice for the show. This included both hand painted and procedural workflows as well as a method for scattering painterly brushstrokes to integrate snow into the painterly world. I also developed a new approach for painterly snow buildup on trees with a directional control that allowed lighters to orient the snow with the blown FX snow.
